The Dog in Art Gallery, New York, was pleased to present an exhibition and sale of fine nineteenth- and early twentieth-century dog and animal paintings, original drawings, and bronzes at the Thomasville Antiques Show.
The presentation featured more than forty works by leading artists of the genre, including Robert Abbett (Golden Retriever), Alexandre Clarys (Pointers), George Earl (Gordon Setter), Nicolas Edward Gabé (Beagles), Valentine Thomas Garland (Foxhound puppies), Heywood Hardy (Irish Setter), George Horlor (Bernese Mountain Dog), Marguerite Kirmse (English Setters, Pointers, and Cocker Spaniels), Gustav Muss-Arnolt (the celebrated pointer Stylish Wasp), Eugène Petit (Pointers, Gordon and English Setters), Percival Leonard Rosseau (English Setters), and Arthur Wardle (Wire Fox Terrier), among others.
