George Wright
George Wright was born in 1860 in Leeds, England. Together with his brother Gilbert, George taught himself the basic principles of painting. Both brothers found that they excelled at art and went on to become two of the finest sporting artists of their time. In particular, George Wright became a well-known artist for his depiction of hunting and coaching scenes in a style that was realistic and true to nature. Many of Wright’s works were exhibited at prestigious the Royal Academy, where they earned the attention and appreciation throughout his lifetime.
